I have just watched a program which I taped last night from ABC Detroit.
It was Investigative Reporting, a segment of 11 o'clock news, with very interesting stats on Autism and Mercury. The info is available at " WXYZ.com", for internet buffs.
For illiterates like me, I will attempt to summarize what I heard.
1 in 150 children in the USA are Autistic.
In the Amish community there are 4 in 22000 Autistic.
of these 4 , 3 had been vaccinated and 1 had lived near a Power Plant which emitted MERCURY.
Statistically there should have been 130 Autistic.
They showed the ingredients label, which describes MERCURY as THIMEROSOL.
There are 11 Vaccines which contain THIMEROSOL.
THIMEROSOL is also in Tetanus and most Flu Shots.
Tests on Monkeys showed that it caused Brain disorders in the monkeys, similar to autism.
Studies done approx. 10 years ago recommended that the use of MERCURY should be STOPPED but nothing was ever done about it.
THE SAME AMOUNT OF MERCURY IS IN MOST VACCINES AS 10 YEARS AGO!!!!

25 years ago I decided to not give my kids vaccines. How can one know what the longterm consequences are after all the drug companies sold DES to pregnant woman and it was only when their daughters got cancer as adults they realized that DES killed in the second generation.
I advise research before immunizing.

Oh, come on now, the pharmaceutical companies have our best interests at heart. They wouldn't put it in vaccines if it caused harm, they've thoroughly researched this issue. Obviously, this is just a myth!

What I really wanted to say was: The Drug companies are in competition with the Oil companies to see who can cheat the most people out of their money.
CG wanted me to comment on lawyers while I was posting, but I don't want to get involved.

Gee, I think I've had my last tetanus shot as well. They have been hiding it forever in the shots.
I hope u will all remember to get your flu shot to. Seeing for some reason the government thinks that are immune systems can't deal with it anymore. lol

There are many dangerous things about vaccines. Whooping cough vaccine gives some people whooping cough, and causes permanent brain injury in others.
Not having vaccines can kill you in many situations (think hepatitis B in Mexico, or several more serious diseases in Africa and such places).
However, Thimerosal (sodium ethylmercurithiosalicylate) apparently breaks down into ethyl mercury, which is excreted by the body.
Methyl mercury is toxic, but ethyl mercury just goes out of your body into the lucky environment (hopefully in small quantities).
There is no scientific study linking ethyl mercury to autism, or so I hear in Scientific American (Michael Shermer wrote the article).
