Over the last few years I have seen various Corn Mazes and thought it looked like fun but how hard can it be.
On Sunday we went with CG & John and their downline to a Maze, it was great fun.
The event started with rocket launches in their front yard with various sizes of rockets being launched, some returned to earth intact and others in various states of disrepair but it was great fun. It was hard to tell which size KID was having the most fun.
Most of us stood near the launch site where I thought it was the safest place, Mrs.G. tried to stand under trees thinking they gave most protection, it seemed that the rockets thought otherwise because they landed closer to her more often than anybody else.
When we started at the first maze, I thought that this will be easy, all you have to do is look at the hard packed ground and no problem, WRONG, we all started out as a group along with another family of 4 making a total of 16. In a short time we started breaking into smaller groups then would bump into each other again and again.
There were posted clues along the way to help guide you through. Eventually Mikki and I were on our own which started at 1 particular clue, we took a wrong turn because we had got seperated from the rest. We then found ourselves back at the clue.
From then on we took turns saying "lets go this way" but we always came back to the same clue. Mikki was a real trooper but got anxious a couple of times because she could hear the others not far away. Eventually we saw CG standing on a bridge and calling directions to us, we followed her instructions and Guess what, we came back to the same clue, AGAIN. At that point there was another couple showed up and we all discussed things then walked together to one of the many forks we split there and finally found the right trail. That one was labled as the easy one however the hard one was easier, maybe because we had hooked up with the group again.
It was AMAZING FUN.
We all went back to the rocket launch site for more launches using damaged rockets
which we had patched up with old pieces. Some did not fly in the prescribed manner, flying in wobbly and semi circular patterns.I think everybody was prepaired to hit the ground.
